Google review automation for tradies takes the asking off your plate. We build a timed review request that fires after every completed job, wired into ServiceM8, Tradify or Fergus, so reviews land without you remembering to chase a single one.
Why reviews matter more than most tradies think
When a homeowner searches for a plumber, sparkie or roofer, Google shows a map pack with three businesses. The one with more recent, higher-rated reviews almost always gets the call. Reviews are not vanity, they are the thing between a search and a booked job.
The problem is not that your customers would not leave one. Most would. The problem is nobody asks at the right moment, in the right way, consistently. You finish the job, you are on to the next one, and the window closes. That is the gap review automation fills.
- Recency matters. A business with ten reviews from last month beats one with fifty reviews from two years ago. Google weights fresh reviews in local rankings.
- Volume compounds. Each new review is a signal that your business is active, trusted and delivering. Over months, that compounds into a map-pack position that is hard for a competitor to displace.
- The ask has to be easy. A direct link to your Google review page, sent at the right moment, converts far better than a verbal "leave us a review if you get a chance."
What we actually build
TradieBuddy AI does not sell you a review platform. We diagnose your current review generation gap, then build a custom automation that fits your workflow and wires into the tools you already use. Here is what a typical review automation build includes.
Timed review request
When a job is marked complete in your system, a polite SMS or email goes to the customer with a direct link to your Google Business Profile review page. Timed for the sweet spot: soon enough that the job is fresh, not so soon that the invoice stings.
Consent-first and opt-out safe
Every message captures consent and honours STOP under the Spam Act 2003. No customer gets a review request they did not agree to receive, and opting out is one word.
Smart filtering
Not every job should trigger a request. Warranty call-backs, disputes and incomplete jobs are filtered out, so you only ask customers who had a good experience.
One gentle follow-up
If no review lands within a few days, one polite reminder goes out, then the sequence closes. No nagging, no awkwardness, no damage to the relationship.
How it fits your existing tools
You have already paid for and learned your job management app. We do not ask you to switch. The review automation plugs into the job-complete trigger in ServiceM8, Tradify, simPRO, Fergus or AroFlo and uses your existing customer contact details. Nothing new to log into, nothing new to learn.
| Manual review chasing | A TradieBuddy AI review build |
|---|---|
| Relies on you remembering after every job | Fires automatically on job completion |
| Verbal ask that customers forget | Direct Google review link delivered by SMS |
| Inconsistent, stops when you get busy | Runs every job, every week, without you |
| No filtering, risky after a bad job | Smart filtering skips disputes and warranty work |
| No follow-up on the ask itself | One polite reminder, then it closes |

Review gating and what we will not do
Some platforms filter customers before they reach Google, only sending the link to people likely to leave a high rating. That is review gating, and the ACCC has made clear it risks misleading consumers under the Australian Consumer Law. We do not build it.
Our approach is simple: ask every eligible customer the same way, at the same time, with the same link. The reviews that land are genuine. If a three-star review comes in, that is feedback you can act on, not something to suppress. A business with a mix of honest reviews earns more trust than one with a suspiciously perfect score.
We also never incentivise reviews. No discounts, no prize draws, no loyalty points in exchange for a star rating. Incentivised reviews breach the ACL and they erode the trust you are trying to build. For more on earning reviews honestly, see our guide on how to get more Google reviews without nagging.
Start by sizing the gap
Before we build anything, we look at where your reviews stand today: how many you have, how recent they are, how you compare to the other tradies in your area, and what is stopping new ones from landing. That tells us whether review automation alone closes the gap, or whether it pairs with something else in your stack.
The entry point is a free 15-minute discovery call, where we walk through your current setup and see where reviews fit. From there, the next step is an AI automation audit that maps your full opportunity, reviews included, and scopes a build around what we find.
Common questions about review automation
Will this work with my job management app?
If you run ServiceM8, Tradify, simPRO, Fergus or AroFlo, yes. We wire into the job-complete trigger in your system, so no extra steps on your end. If you use something else, we will assess it in the discovery call.
Is it legal to send automated review requests?
Yes, provided the message captures consent and honours opt-out and STOP under the Spam Act 2003. We build consent-first by default. This is general information, not legal advice. For anything specific to your situation, check with a lawyer or the relevant authority.
What if a customer leaves a bad review?
That is genuine feedback and it stays. We do not gate, filter, or suppress reviews. A mix of honest reviews builds more trust than a suspiciously perfect score. If you get a low rating, respond professionally and use it to improve.
How many more reviews can I expect?
It depends on your job volume and how many customers currently leave reviews without being asked. We will not promise a specific number, but most trade businesses find that simply asking consistently, at the right moment, with a direct link, lifts their review rate meaningfully. The audit sizes your gap first.
